Origin

The Rewarewa tree stands 30 meters above the forest underground and is also know as New Zealand's honey suckle tree.  These unusual cylindar shaped flowers only blossum for a short period of time which makes this honey very special.  Further more the flowers are pollinated by the native Tui and Bellbird who create a nutrient rich nectar that is turned into delicious honey by our resourceful bees.

Taste

Rewarewa Honey has a rich, full-bodied caramel-like flavour and a beautiful deep reddish amber appearance. Rewarewa Honey, made from New Zealand's native Honeysuckle tree, is high in natural antioxidants. Benefits

Rewa rewa's flowers are red and distinctive and the honey that the bees produce from it is rich in hydrogen peroxide with enormous health benefits. Hydrogen peroxide helps your body to repair cells, while eliminating sick cells.

Rewarewa is being studied for additional benefits in New Zealand, but it has been used for centuries to treat skin problems, kill bacteria, and aid in wound healing.
Its absorption ability, particularly in the intestine, suggests that Rewarewa honey can treat intestinal and bowel disorders such as: • diarrhoea • constipation • swollen, painful belly • gas • vomiting

Dosage

Use Rewa rewa honey daily straight from the jar or add to hot or cold drinks.  Use as an alternative to sugar in both savoury and sweet dishes for a healthy culinary delight.
